This is my version of Rick Ross' "B.M.F" - I had to do it. I am fascinated by Irish Mob stories and a book documenting the history of "The Westies" by T.J English is one of my favourite reads. I was very proud when I heard from up and coming Hell's Kitchen boxer Danny McDermott that Jackie Coonan Jnr is a fan of my music so I dedicated this freestyle to him.
For those that don't know Jimmy Burke is "Jimmy Conway" from Goodfellas and Jackie Coonan - well you will have to google him
Jay-Z stopped by this year's Oxegen festival on Friday and of course yours truly was there to join in the festivities. I had spent the week with the tour party and of course my man Memphis Bleek. (who is still smokin that la la lah btw)
I've known Bleek for 4 years now and we have worked closely together on couple of projects, we first met on the Water For Life tour in 2006 and have been working ever since when the situation presents itself.
We had a ball in Dublin during the week, saw all the sites and stopped by RTE to my DJ Mo-K's show and on Friday he asked me along to the Jay-Z performance. I was lucky enough to ride on the tour bus and get all access pass and I stood right on the stage. The show was incredible and being such an unashamed Jay-Z stan myself it was a moment to savor for sure.
After the Jay tore down the stage, we went back to Dublin where Bleek did an impromptu appearance at Base Bar and shut down the night with his club anthem "It's Like That" and after a long ass week managed to catch something to eat with Young Guru and Bridget Kelly from RocNation (who is 1/2 Irish btw)
The wheels are in motion for a Get Low Tour featuring Me & Bleek so keep the eyes and ears open
While in London recently I dropped some bars for my man DJ Gone on the street. I've been slow updating this thing recently but I have been working. I will have footage and pics of my performances on BBC and KISS FM in London up asap
I haven't been blogging or recording as much in last two weeks as I had to take time out for family issues but had to express my sadness at the passing of a hip-hop legend GURU.
I feel what should have been a time to reflect on the greatness of a true great has been overshadowed by the madness surrounding THAT letter and THAT creep Solar.
With that said please take time out to listen to DJ Mayhem's Guru tribute mix, Mayhem is an absolute maniac on the turntables and my go-to guy when it comes to scratches so every thorough head out there can enjoy this fitting tribute
Someone very important reminded me that I hadn't updated my blog so here goes. Last week I had the chance to go in on air with Brother Ali when he was in Dublin on "Speakerboxx" with Mo-K, Tando & Robb Quik.
Part one of our freestyle is here. Mo gave us the Jake One & Freeway beat for "She Makes Me Feel Alright" and the result is pretty dope.
What makes it extra special is that it did the rounds on all the major blogs like nahright, 2dopeboyz and of course Semtex..
Me and Brother Ali are gonna work together in the near future but in the meantime you can download the audio for free in the header
Hopefully we can get the part two up for you soon, make sure to stay tuned to "Kellovision" every week
Unless you have been living under a rock you know that Tinie Tempah's #1 record "Pass Out" has become a veritable "A Milli" with everyone and their Ma jumping on it to do a version including myself..and of course my brother from another mother Krutch from Brooklyn, both of our versions are included on the DJ Semtex "Passed Out" Mixtape which also features versions by Bashy, Princess Nyah, Genesis Elijah and Stylah..

I'm a little late on this so please forgive me. This is my homeboy Dan Greenpeace's mix. If you don't know about Greenpeace you should put google to good use and find about him, DJ with ill skills, journalist and manager among other stuff but more importantly for me one of the realest people in the business who has always given me valuable advice.
Brand new Charlie Sloth featuring Farma G and Black The Ripper "Not Like You"
Charlie is my brother from another mother and his new mixtape "The Black Book" produced entirely by Dominic Owen (who produced "Things Done Changed" for Biggie) and featuring the cream of the crop of the UK Scene including Rodney P, Skinnyman, Wretch 32, Mystro, Scrorzayzee, Sincere, Stylah, Million Dan, Ransom Badbonez, and oh yeah ....Ireland's finest aka....me
I'm back in the zone in terms of new music. I've been recording so much verses lately. I've got a backlog of features that I'm catching up on too.
Yesterday I recorded a verse for Charlie Sloth's new mixtape "The Black Book", did a verse for a house record and I went in on this Nicki Minaj leak "Saxon" (She actually wrote this song for Rihanna but it didn't make the album) produced by Chase & Status
Gimme that beat fool.. It's a full time Jack move. Expect new mixtape to be in the bag imminently
The usual dose of modesty from me with a Dis to Ashley Cole and an Eastenders ending..dum dum dum dum dum dudda dudda
One of my biggest heroes in music is 11 years dead. If I live to be 100 I will never be as good as him.
I don't know if these little kids listening to Lil Wayne or Drake for the first time these days are going through the same thing now but when I first heard Big L, I used to stay up til 4a.m listening to Westwood and I remember the first time he played "Put It On" I nearly broke the rewind button on the tape to hear it again.
Big L was shot and killed in a case of mistaken identity in Harlem on Feb 15th 1999 and one of the things I always think about at this time is the fact that he was just about to sign with Roc-A-Fella when he passed away which would have meant him in the studio with some early Just Blaze and Kanye West production...the mind boggles when you think about how he would have demolished some of those beats.
Greatest of all time is a term bandied about too often these days but when made in reference to him it's hard to argue.
I jumped on Tinie Tempah's monster "Pass Out" and the big homie Semtex debuted it on his blog on Sunday. A lot of positive response from the blogs and the DJs alike.
Recorded this in one take with Mo in RTE on Sunday.
Make sure to reply to @tinietempah on Twitter to let him know if you are feeling it.
Anyone that knows me knows I'm a big Styles P fan. I was excited to hear from my man DJ OP that I could set up an Interview with him for Mo & Tando's radio show "Speakerboxx" on RTE Pulse. Myself, Tando & Mo took the helm for the interview.
We talked about BIG, His time in Dublin and the classic LP "The Green Ghost Project"
Just want to wish everybody a very happy new year. I had a great 2009, My Mixtape "St. Patrick's Day Massacre" was well received by the blogs and radio deejays alike and I got to work with some of my favorite rappers on it Reef The Lost Cauze, Memphis Bleek & Slaine
You can still get that here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8C8L3e-xKVU for free just follow the links in the description
I got to co-host radio show with my DJ Mo-K on RTE pulse and am glad to see he is taking it to the next level.
I got to do some overseas shows including one in the UK with the newcastle lads that I won't forget and over here I opened for everyone from N-Dubz to T-Pain to Akon.
Thanks to Paddy @ On The Grind Boxing I got to interview my Idol Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins alongside R.A The Rugged Man.
So to look forward to 2010 - I am releasing my first official single on US Label Commonwealth Records on St Patrick's Day called "Everytime I come home" which can be previewed here http://www.myspace.com/robkelly and the album will follow with guest appearances by Republic of Loose and Maverick Sabre to name a few.
also this year me and Stress one of the best producers in Philly are doing a collaborative project called "Blak Irish" which I won't give too much away about just yet but we are lining up serious guests and great music for you all. Stress is known for his work with Reef, Ghostface and Gym Class Heroes is all i'm saying, as well look out for me branching out with Scooby from Cork on some other genres.
Anyway thanks to everybody who listens - appreciate it.
